Do I need to register my child?
Yes, all children must be registered before they can attend a session at KD Gymnastics. Please see the registration page.

Can my child have a practice session to see if they like it?
Yes, we offer a free ‘taster’ session so that your child can experience a gym class and see if they like it before you part with any money.

What does my child need to wear in the gym?
For Open Play Gym, Gym Tots and Gym Minis the dress code is T-shirt and shorts or leggings. For the Recreational Classes the gymnasts will be expected to wear KD T-shirts or leotards, shorts or leggings and bare feet.

Is my child allowed to wear jewellery in the gym?
Sorry but we cannot permit any jewellery to be worn, including ear studs or body piercings.  This constitutes a safety hazard and UK Gymnastics and their Insurers have made it a no-tolerance policy.

Can adults watch the classes?
With the exception of the Open Play Gym sessions where a responsible adult must be in charge of the child at all times, the other sessions are closed to adults. This allows the children to flourish and progress at their own pace.  We do however have a ‘watching week’ every 2 months to allow parents and guardians to see their child’s progression.

How much do the classes cost?
The classes range from £5.00 to £8.50 per session. There is also a £10.00 annual membership fee per child, plus an insurance fee. Please see our individual class pages for more details on costs.

How long do the classes last?
Our classes range from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. Please see our individual class pages for more information.

Can I drop my child off earlier than their class start time?
Please do not drop off your child or other children early and leave them unattended. Gymnasts should ideally arrive a few minutes before the start of training. The Gym Club cannot be responsible for these children until they enter the gym.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cheque or cash ONLY. Payments can be made at reception.

Do you have a car park?
Yes we have free parking located at the back of the gym – The entrance to the gym is the other side of the building, however, accessed by walking along the side of the building..

Can I smoke in your building?
No sorry, the whole of the KDGC building is a SMOKE FREE ZONE.

How many coaches/children are there per class?
There are a number of factors to consider when making recommendations with regard to the ratio of participants to coach or teach. These may include the age and development of the participants, level and type of activity, experience of the participants and qualification and experience of the coach, type of facility and equipment available. The coach in charge must always make a risk assessment of each situation and must determine a ratio that is reasonable, safe and effective

Are your coaches qualified?
Yes, all our coaches are qualified British Gymnastics coaches and/or ex-gymnasts and are registered with BGA and have enhanced CRB checks. The club also has a strong coach educational programme.

What are your policies on child safety?
KD Gymnastics is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young vulnerable adults and has a full Child Protection Policy in place and a nominated Welfare Officer.  It complies with the British Gymnastics Child Protection Policy.

If we go away on holiday do I need to inform KD Gymnastics?
If your child is going to be away longer than 2 weeks, please let the gym know.

How do I claim lost property?
Please report to the office if you have lost anything. All lost property will be cleared at the end of each half term. Please ensure your child has all their belongings before they go home.

I have a complaint, what should I do?
If you have a complaint or a concern about any club member – be it a gymnast, coach, committee member or another parent; please contact the office as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can email the Club Secretary, Francesca Horne at
